Welcome all you Jivers, Rockers and Swingers to HEPCAT DRUM TRACKS

Tune in to the sound of 1940s & 50s drums!

About Hepcat

I love the drumming style of this era but feel it’s often over looked and unappreciated, so I’ve started this project to try and correct that.

My aim is to faithfully reproduce the drum parts of our favourite rockin’ and swingin’ records from the 1940s & 50s using my 1950s Ludwig drum kit, real calf skin heads and ribbon microphones.

I’m confident you’ll love the sound of my drums and the quality of service I provide.

So get hip, download my FREE Drum Tracks and contact me for information about adding drums your own songs!

Mailing list

Well now dig this! Join my mailing list for FREE Isolated Drum Tracks every week, straight to your inbox!

Each week I choose one of my favourite and most popular swingin’ tunes from an artist or band from the 1940s or 50s and record the drum parts as played by the original drummer. I then send out 7 individual tracks plus a vintage mix that is as close as I can get to the original drum sound.

Sign up below to get these tracks, completely free. I hope they help you create the music you love to play.

Isolated Drums

I love reproducing these drum parts and I want others to be able to play along with or record their favourite tunes with authentic drum parts, so I am very happy to be able to provide this and really enjoy the process.

Below you’ll find every song I have recorded. Please download and use them however you desire!

They are completely free but if you feel you are able to and would like to make a donation, you may do so here:

Bio

I graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2013 and have been a professional musician ever since. I specialise in early jazz, swing, jump jive and early rock ‘n’ roll from the 1920s to the 1950s; and play all sorts of gigs ranging from weddings, festivals and events to touring the UK and Europe for weeks at a time. My passion is trying to play authentically with the right feel, equipment and image, and relish the idea of taking people back in time with me when I perform. I really enjoy the process of recording but have realised how few people understand the idiosyncrasies of 1940s and 50s drumming and how to capture it authentically in a studio setting. So here I am, trying my best to give other people who are passionate about this style the best sounding and feeling drums I can.
